All recommendations apply to all three IQOS ILUMA i models, including ONE and PRIME. You may have received the previous model without the "i" at the end from family or friends; the differences in use are not significant, and the actual usage is the same. It is important to note that it is no longer worthwhile to start using all older models that do not have ILUMA in their name; the experience was not as comfortable or flavorful, and they use HEETS sticks, the sale of which is gradually being discontinued.

Difference between ILUMA and ILUMA i
The latest ILUMA model, additionally marked with the letter "i", differs from its predecessor mainly by the touch display on the holder. Its biggest advantage is that it allows you to activate a pause in heating by swiping your finger. Learn more details in our reviews.
IQOS ILUMA i ONE
First time turning on IQOS ILUMA i
After unpacking the box, you need to turn on the IQOS ILUMA i. Press and hold the button on the charger until all the indicator lights flash. If no lights are on, charge the IQOS; it may take a while before it starts charging.
Charging
Before you head out, charge the ILUMA i using the USB-C cable from the box. Connect it to any adapter, for example from your phone; the indicator lights will flash. Briefly press the button to check the battery level. Press the button on the holder to check its charge level; two lights should be on for two uses of sticks. If the light is orange, it is not charged.
First use of IQOS ILUMA i
Once charged, you can start using the IQOS. You probably received your first TEREA packs to try. If you don't have an overview yet, you can check our catalog of TEREA sticks, or look at the comparison of all TEREA flavors in 2025.
Insert the stick into the holder; heating will start automatically, signaled by a vibration. The display on the holder will begin to show the heating progress with lights filling an oval.
After approximately 15 seconds, the holder will vibrate again, the oval will be complete, and you can start drawing for about 6 minutes or 13 draws. As you draw, the oval will begin to decrease. 30 seconds before the end, the IQOS will vibrate again; two draws remain, and the middle lights will start pulsing.
