"i" as in innovation IQOS ILUMA 2025
We have been seeing the letter i in the name since last year, when the IQOS ILUMA i PRIME went on sale. Its biggest innovation is the display on the holder. Read our review.

For 2025, IQOS saved the launch of the mid-range ILUMA i and the most affordable ILUMA i One. And it is precisely the latter that brings major feature improvements that were most lacking. Apart from design changes, brand new colors and a new display, the main additions include automatic heating activation after inserting a stick and a motion sensor.
What's new in ILUMA i One
All-aluminum body
The most visible change is the design innovation. The i One body is now all-aluminum, and the lower silicone part is gone. Thanks to this, the new device looks more premium, with a smoothed top edge and a cover for the stick insertion opening. Personally, I will miss the rubber lower third — it prevented slipping and sweating in the hand, and it was always in a slightly different shade, which I liked.
5 new colors
The i One is available in five base colors that are truly well done, and it is hard to pick the prettiest one. The orange is very similar to the Oasis limited edition from Spain, you will see the pistachio in all promo shots, the olive is exceptionally nice, women will love the violet, and my favorite is the light blue.
Display
A new design element is the black display with an elongated trigger button, which you will essentially no longer need for anything other than the initial power-on. It contains four status LEDs that indicate the charge level and gradually decrease during heating. Unfortunately, the pause activation during heating found on the more expensive ILUMA i is missing here.
Major change: automatic heating activation
And why won't you need the button anymore? Because heating is activated automatically once you insert a stick. A key feature that was inexplicably missing from the previous model, and for me personally it was the reason I did not use the ONE. It sounds like a small thing, but it has a major impact on everyday use.
Motion gyroscope
The second reason the button was used was to check the charge status. The new i ONE responds to movement — just pick it up from the table and the LEDs immediately show the charge level. Again, it sounds like a small thing, but it comes in handy every day.
Key features
And that is the end of the review — do not look for any more changes. If you want to know anything else about the IQOS ILUMA One, everything from our two-year-old review still applies. That is no problem though — the previous model was already nearly perfect, and the new one simply adds the key features that make the ILUMA i One a perfect device that is hard to fault.
